Chic Sports Mom Fits for Summer
Fool proof looks that are functional in the heat, while still looking fashionable
As most of you probably know by now, I have officially made it to the East Coast for the summer!
I honestly couldn’t be more excited to be here. I’m beyond ready for beach days with the family, tanning by the pool, and drinks with my girlfriends. However, despite being here for over a week, I have somehow found myself stuck at a lacrosse camp all week.
That means my days have been spent on the side of a lacrosse field in over 80º weather, with 89% humidity. Let’s just say it has been rough... I may have suffered heat stroke and had to lay horizontal for 8 hours, but somehow, I managed to get through it all.
The most important thing I’ve learned from this experience is how crucial it is to dress appropriately for the weather. Staying cool and comfortable in such extreme heat and humidity has become my top priority. I’ll be sharing a roundup of the best summer sports mom looks that have helped me survive—and even thrive—during these sweltering days. From lightweight fabrics to stylish sun hats, I’ve got you covered with all the tips and tricks you need to stay chic and comfortable while cheering on the sidelines.
You’ll see many times throughout this post that I’m a big proponent of dresses for sports mom duty. It may not seem like the most obvious choice, but when it’s 89% humidity, I want the least amount of layers and clothes on as possible, and usually, that’s a dress.
I often opt for a midi dress because you can truly do anything in it. This linen dress is a classic tank shift dress from Momonì, which is an Italian clothing brand that makes the most stunning Summer pieces. Unfortunately, this dress is sold out, but I found similar options from Khaite and The Row. I love this style dress because first off, it’s sleeveless so you aren’t worrying about any sweat stains and secondly, light weight linen fabric is kind of my holy grail when it comes to dealing with hot weather. It’s breathable and practical, while still looking chic.
I just paired it with some of my go-to Summer accessories like my Janessa Leoné Simone, my Janessa Leoné Cami Bag (which btw, you guys freaking sold out after I posted it on IG because it’s THAT good), and my classic black fisherman sandals from The Row.
