Trends I Loved at NYFW and How I Will Be Bringing them Into My Wardrobe
Turning runway looks into everyday fashion.
I’ve been back in LA for two weeks now after spending the whole summer in the Hamptons, and somehow I keep finding myself heading back to the East Coast (though I’m not complaining). This time, my trip was for NYFW, and I’m literally still pinching myself. NY is unlike any other place, ever. The faces you see, the places you go… There is SO much character and creativity every which way you turn, and it’s so true that creativity fuels creativity.
I’m so beyond inspired by everywhere I went, everyone I met, and everything that I saw. I had the ultimate experience, getting a taste of the behind-the-scenes action at a runway show and actually getting to watch one of my all-time favorite brands.
I was behind the scenes at the Simkhai show, where YSE Beauty prepped the models’ skincare for the runway. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — your makeup look is only as good as the skincare prep beforehand. It was AMAZING. Plus, we introduced all the models to a new YSE product which is coming soon 😉!!
I also had the absolute pleasure of attending the Khaite show. My love for Khaite is no exaggeration. If you listened to this week’s episode of Lipstick on the Rim, then you heard
and I totally fan-girling over our interview with THE Cate Holstein, founder and creative director of Khaite.With all the excitement from NYFW, and before preparing to go BACK to New York next week, I have started to plan out how I can take the trends from NYFW (even though they’re from Spring/Summer collections), and bring it into my everyday wardrobe for Fall. So without further adieu, lets get into it.
Two weeks ago, when filling you in on what I’m looking forward to wearing in the fall, I talked a little bit about monochromatic looks. Let me tell you, we were ahead of the game cause look what I saw on the runway... monochromatic looks playing with different textures was all over NYFW. I LOVED this all red ensemble from Khaite. It’s chic, elevated and screams cool girl.
