With springtime nearing and spring break travel just around the corner, I felt like it was time to start a wardrobe refresh.
So, while I was doing a little spring cleaning the other day, I also put together some outfits with a few new, and a lot of old pieces.
After doing this, I first realized I was totally using this as a way to procrastinate my task at hand, but also, I was reminded how you really only need a few, intentional purchases to really spice up your closet.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love shopping just as much as the next person. I mean, I am pretty much always window shopping/online scrolling to provide the latest and greatest recommendations, however, this year I am trying to be more intentional and mindful than ever when buying a new piece.
I have been loving quiet luxury and timeless staples, and mindful shopping goes hand in hand with this. My girl
, from Le Catch, actually shared some great knowledge on timeless staples in her episode of Lipstick on the Rim.With all that in mind, lets get into the 5 outfits I put together, all with one new item, and a bunch of old ones to accompany it.
I love this look for a casual office fit, or a transitional winter-to-spring look. It’s basically a combination of wardrobe staples. A denim shirt, black jeans, loafers…you really can’t go wrong and you probably already have at least few of these items in your closet. My new item in this fit is this amazing pair of Raey wide-leg black jeans.
To me, a good pair of denim is ALWAYS worth the splurge. I find that a lot of my girlfriends and I dread shopping for jeans, but when you find a pair that make you look and feel good, nothing beats it. These Raey jeans are that for me. I know wide-leg isn’t everyones’ cup of tea, but I find them to be so much more flattering than a skinny jean. To me, they just look more elevated than a skinny jean, and my style queen @larissamills, agreed when she was on the pod the skinny jean is OUT 😉.
