What I Packed for The Hamptons & The Fits I've Worn So Far
Summer pieces that are getting the moment they deserve.
As I am sitting here writing this, I can’t believe I got to the East Coast on Monday. It feels like I have lived 7 lives since then. We touched down in The Hamptons and basically immediately left and headed to Delaware for some lacrosse. Sports mom duty really never stops…not even in the Summers 🙃. Anyway, it feels so good to be out here and I’m really looking forward to the next few months.
If you follow me on Instagram then you know just how hard I went with the packing last week…lord. Anyways one of the actual fun parts of packing is shopping your own closet and putting together new outfits.
So without further adieu here are some fits I packed for my Summer on the East Coast, and what I’ve worn during my first week here.
P.S. there is a MASSIVE heatwave going on right now over here so as you can imagine many of these looks are heatwave friendly.
Let me just preface these what I packed pics by saying I wear a lot of dresses in the summer. It’s my absolute go to. Easy, chic, and I feel good in it every single time. Which is so important and so underrated. You really don’t have to give up looking good for comfort. As Liat Baruch (aka Sofia Richie’s stylist) said when she came on Lipstick on the Rim, you look good in what you're comfortable wearing, not the other way around. And honestly, that’s such a good reminder for us all.
Starting off with this Ulla Johnson Palma Dress. It’s the easiest yes. It’s white with a barely there polka dot, light puff sleeves, a tiered, flowy skirt, and the cutest tie front detail. You really can’t have too many dresses for summer, especially white ones.
You guys know I love a good bathing suit cover up that I can actually wear out to errands, lunch, you name it. And this set is exactly that. This is a matching top and skirt set from Vitamin A Swim which by the way, is one of my favorite swimwear brands. We actually talked a lot about them in last week’s Summer Must Haves episode on the podcast — which if you haven’t yet listened it will be your bible for Summer shopping.
This find is new and under $80 — you’re welcome! First of all, I’m obsessed with the print, it looks so much more expensive than it is. I also love the tiny cutout in the front, and it has the chicest open back and slit. It’s sexy, and flattering but still appropriate. It’s honestly such a good vacation dress, and I’m so excited to wear it this season. I feel like I can keep it casual or dress it up a bit which I also always love in a dress.
I really love this midi dress from Celobella too. It’s lightweight, has this cute front button detailing and the length is just right. The square neckline is also great and of course I’m obsessed with the fact that it has pockets. P.S. There’s also a zipper in the back, so you’re not stuck buttoning and unbuttoning every time, and the smocked detail in the back adds a chic little touch too. It’s just an easy throw on and go dress that’ll be getting a lot of wear this season.
I’m a big fan of Isabel Marant in general, but Marant Étoile which is basically the more casual, accessible sister line is one I find myself coming back to again and again. If you haven’t checked it out, you definitely should. They have some amazing pieces, including this short chiffon dress that I just got in the mail and am OBSESSED with. The color and print combo is just so fun. And like most of their pieces, the details are really well thought out, like the flowy sleeves and hem, and the ruched detailing down the front that gives it a little shape without being too tight. The v neckline is sooo good too. P.S. It’s currently on sale so get it while you can!
