It’s been a week, to say the least—so let’s do a little recap. First things first, oh yes, YSE Beauty has a new Favorite Ex in town 😉!

Your Favorite Ex Deep Deep Down Exfoliating Gel is your holy grail exfoliant that will get your glow BACK for Winter. It’s an absolute must-have for spring. Say goodbye to dull, winter skin and hello to a fresh, glowing, perfectly prepped complexion.

And in addition to one of my all time favorite products launching, I also got some very exciting news 🥹! I’m beyond honored to be part of Inc.’s Female Founders 500 list—a list of powerhouse women who are leading companies and nonprofits. Beyond grateful to be recognized alongside SUCH incredible women. 🤍

Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, did I mention I flew to NYC to host two days of The Kelly Clarkson Show?! Yeah, that happened and it was seriously SO much fun. It felt so good to go back to my hosting days!

With all that said, it has been a crazy but rewarding week and I am still riding on a high as I’m heading home from a weekend on horse mom duty.

And because no amount of busyness can keep me away from shopping, I, of course, had to squeeze in a little shopping time in NYC. So I stopped into none other than Zara, because let’s be real—the NYC Zaras just hit different.

Without further ado, here’s what I picked up…🛍️

I wore high rise denim jorts (jorts=jean shorts, BTW) a few times last summer and really liked them—so I’m kind of thinking about bringing them back this season. They’re the perfect in-between if you want the denim short look but with a little more coverage and an effortless, laid-back vibe. I’d style them with a simple tee and my mesh slides or even my sambas, but I’ve also seen people dress them up with an oversized blazer and strappy kitten heels or fun flats. Midi shorts definitely aren’t for everyone, but I think if you can learn how to master them, it’s the type of clothing that will instantly show your fashion game.

This puffed bomber jacket is the perfect spring layer. The green color is so good, and the satiny finish gives it that luxe feel. It’s light, airy, and flowy, making it ideal for layering—because let’s be real, layering is an absolute must for spring. I’m also loving this denim bomber jacket I saw while doing some browsing online— similar to this Zara jacket, it’s more lightweight than the usual puffy bomber, which makes it even more wearable. The bubble sleeves also add such a chic touch, and it looks just as good zipped up as it does unzipped over a simple tee or tank.

Continuing on with the bomber jacket, I LOVE burnt red moment! Like the bomber we just talked about, it’s perfect for layering because it’s not as warm as your usual puffer, but it will still keep you warm in the cold spring mornings and evenings. You can also pull the strings from the inside and cinch the bottom for a more structured look which is a detail I always love in jackets. It just helps give you more shape. I’m also loving this two toned green one from Barbour that’s totally giving the same vibe.

This week on Lipstick on the Rim this week,

Emese Gormley
and I are talking all things beauty and fashion favorites for spring. Spoiler alert: leather is still in—so when I saw this faux leather jacket, I knew I needed it. The love the finish because it’s so different from anything else I have and gives it such a cool, elevated look. It’s definitely oversized, which I love— oversized jackets look more expensive than they really are, IYKYK. 😉
